Updated project report templates, instructions and Health and Safety documents are available for chapters to download from myEWB-USA. Chapters will be required to use the updated templates starting with the January 2013 submittal deadline.

Project Grants Program: Apply now!

The EWB-USA Project Grants Program kicked off its fall cycle on August 31! The deadline for submittinga grant application is September 28. Only chapters that intend to spend an EWB-USA fall 2012 project grant award by May 5, 2014, can apply for funding during this project grant cycle.
Steps for applying:
1. Read about important changes to the Project Grants Program on the Grants page and review the Project Grants Program FAQs document.
2. Read Fall 2012 Project Grants Program Funders + Criteria

to learn more about fall funding opportunities.
3. Complete the new online grant application + the budget template by September 28.

CH2M HILL EWB-USA Scholarship Program application now open

It’s time to apply for the third annual CH2M HILL EWB-USA Scholarship Program. The CH2M HILL EWB-USA Scholarship Program provides $5,000 scholarships to students who are actively involved with EWB-USA chapters and projects at their universities. The application deadline is November 30. EPA P3 Competition: Grant award available for sustainable solutions

Are you a college student or professor with a great idea for building a better world? If so, check out the U.S Environmental Protection Agency’s P3 – people, prosperity and the planet – Program. EPA’s P3 competition gives teams of graduate and undergraduate students and their faculty adviser a $15,000 grant to design a solution for a sustainable future. Teams present their ideas to the National Sustainable Design Expo in Washington, DC to compete for the EPA P3 Award and a grant of up to $90,000 to take the project to real world implementation. APPLY NOW! Deadline for applications is December 11, 2012.

Meet the 2012 Peter J. Bosscher Faculty Advisor Award Recipient
Dr. David Lovell received the Peter J. Bosscher Faculty Advisor Award for Outstanding Leadership, which recognizes faculty advisors who provide outstanding leadership and mentorship to their student chapter. Dr. Lovell currently works with the University of Maryland, College Park chapter and has been working with EWB-USA since 2004. Learn more about Dr. Lovell and the award.
Call for papers: EWRI Congress
EWB-USA is hosting a track at the upcoming World Environmental and Water Resources (EWRI) Congress in Cincinnati on May 19-23, 2013. We are showcasing panels and presentations on the following topics:
  • Global Dialogue Session: Water Systems for Developing Communities
  •  Global Dialogue Session: Understanding Cultural Constraints and Social Norms in International Small-Scale Technology Projects
  • Global Dialogue Session: Balancing Environmental, Financial, and Community Sustainability in Community Water Projects
